Virgin Bet is one of those bookmakers that wears a famous name and then gets on with the job quietly. It launched in 2019, it’s run from Gibraltar by Virgin Bet Limited, and it belongs to LiveScore Group, the people behind the scores app half of us check at full time (the Virgin name is used under licence, which is why the red logo turns up on a betting slip). Underneath, it’s a tidy, sensible sportsbook. Its A–Z runs to sumo, sailing, speedway and chess. It pays a player bet if your man’s substituted, under Sub Payout. And its in-play lobby tells you which channel the game is on.

Why we’d send a friend to Virgin Bet
The qualifier. Minimum odds of 1.5 mean you can back the team you actually fancy, rather than hunting for something at evens just to unlock a bonus. For a first bet with a new bookie, that’s how it should work.
Second, the cashier. Withdrawals are processed within 24 hours and then land instantly with Apple Pay, Revolut Pay and PayPal, or in one to four hours to debit cards and Pay by Bank. There are no fees, and the minimum is £5.
Third, the little extras that are genuinely useful. One thing Virgin Bet could do better
The free bet split. Of the £30, £10 has to go on a Bet Builder, and Virgin Bet’s bonus rules don’t let free bet tokens go on each-way bets. If you’re a racing punter, or someone who’d rather spend a free tenner on an NBA single than a same-game combination, a third of the welcome is spoken for. An all-sportsbook £30 would suit more people.

Here’s how the Virgin Bet welcome offer works. Join as a new member and place a bet of £10 or more on sports (virtual sports don’t count) at odds of 1.5 or bigger. The bet has to settle within 14 days. Once it does, you’re offered £30 in free bets: accept them within seven days, then use them within seven days. £20 goes on anything on the sportsbook, and £10 on a Bet Builder.

How a Virgin Bet free bet works, from its bonus rules: it’s for the sportsbook only, at odds of 1/100 or bigger, on singles or accumulators, one at a time, and not each-way. The stake isn’t returned and the token can’t be withdrawn. Cash Out can’t be used on free bets.
Danny’s tip: put the £20 sportsbook free bet on a price, not a banker. Here’s a made-up example. Say a Premier League side is 3.00 to win away from home. Two £10 free bets on singles like that return £30 each if they land, minus the £10 stake that isn’t returned, so £20 profit each. On a 1.20 favourite, each would return £12, so £2. Save the short prices for the qualifier, where 1.5 is all you need.

How does £30 for a tenner compare? bet365 pays the same £30, as Bet Credits, for bets to the value of your qualifying deposit, and lets you choose where it goes; its Promo Code 365GMBLR doesn’t change the amount. easyBet pays £30 too, but asks for £20 on a Predictions market. - Sub Payout. On selected player markets and leagues marked with the Sub Payout icon, your player bet still pays if he’s subbed off. 90 minutes only.
- Price Boosts. A page of boosted prices split into Multi-Match, Football, Horse Racing, American Football, Darts and Formula 1.
- Boosted Bet Builders. Daily boosted same-game bets: max stakes, one bet per customer per day, three or four legs minimum at combined odds of evens or bigger, Bet Builders only.
- Market Movers. An in-play tab showing where prices are moving.
- Free Fives and the Daily Free Game. Free daily games with real prizes.
Bet Builder on Virgin Bet
Virgin Bet’s Bet Builder covers the major football matches, with popular markets on many other sports. You can add up to ten selections, and the odds update as you add them. If a player you’ve picked doesn’t start, the whole Bet Builder is voided and your stake comes back; if part of the combination is void, the stake for that part is refunded. There’s no published minimum number of legs or minimum odds for a normal Bet Builder; the boosted ones need three or four. £10 of the welcome free bets has to go on a Bet Builder.
Virgin Bet in-play, cash out and streaming
The in-play lobby had 176 events when we looked, with tabs for football, tennis, NFL, basketball, cricket, darts, esports, handball, rugby union, snooker, table tennis and volleyball. Each live game shows its TV broadcaster, from Sky Sports and Premier Sports to DAZN and Amazon Prime.
Cash Out works on singles and multiples on selected pre-match and in-play markets. You cash out the whole bet, and it isn’t available on free bets.
There’s a Streaming tab in-play. For racing, Virgin Bet’s help centre says you only need a funded account to watch, with no stake restrictions.
Payments and withdrawals
Virgin Bet’s cashier takes Visa and Mastercard debit, Pay by Bank, Apple Pay, Revolut Pay and PayPal. Prepaid, virtual and disposable cards don’t count for the welcome offer.
Withdrawals start at £5, top out at £20,000 a time and carry no fees. Each request is processed within 24 hours, then Apple Pay, Revolut Pay and PayPal are instant, and cards and Pay by Bank take one to four hours. You can’t withdraw while a verification request is outstanding, and Virgin Bet won’t let you cancel a withdrawal once it’s requested.
